Week 6 was another busy one. The puppies are really a lot of work at this stage. The pen has to be to be cleaned 3X a day, meals are 4X a day and everyone wants to play play play... The pups are now eating some dry food mixed with canned dog food.
Some people have asked where the puppies are kept. Believe it or not - right in our kitchen! We bought a remnant of old flooring and then put an X-Pen in our kitchen. Of course the kitchen table had to shrink and it does interfere with family meals but the puppies are right in the middle of all the action and get a lot of human contact and socialization. This litter is much more "people friendly" than any previous litter and that's saying something because Wheatens LOVE people!
The puppies are nearly ready for their new homes. It will be a very short week. Some pups leave on Thursday, others fly to new homes on Friday or Saturday. Exhausting but fun and very rewarding.
